#adoptasenior campaign

Schools across the nation have instituted the "Adopt a Senior" program to give students an alternative experience/gift to the milestones that high school seniors are missing due to COVID-19. To support this cause, NYAM co-hosts have each decided to adopt and celebrate a deserving high school senior (four students total). With the generous support of our community members who matched and/or doubled our donations, we were able to adopt a total of 18 deserving high school students across the country!

Letters to My Mother (Kuv Niam)

After a recent tear-filled recording, we decided to dedicate a small digital campaign to our moms/mother-figures in honor of Mother’s Day. We asked our listeners to write a letter to their mothers/mother-figures, in hopes of providing them with a space to reflect, heal, love, or honor these relationships. These are their letters. We hope you enjoy them.

Women’s history month - hmong women spotlights

As we celebrate the complicated history of the centennial of the 19th Amendment, we know just how important it is to share our Hmong stories and narratives. In this spirit, we are highlighting these phenomenal Hmong sisters who are “not your average Mai’s” and their work in moving our community forward.
